T4 VOLLEYBALL TEAM PROGRAM

General Program Details
Age Definitions: (See the chart below to find the age group for your child.)
- Middle School (MS) players are generally grades 3rd-8th (10U-14U).
- High School (HS) players are 9th-12th grade (15U-18U).
Training
T4 Volleyball uses a master coach approach with all teams and practices. Our Club Director plans and assists with the implementation of all practices with input from coaches. This helps ensure that all players are being trained in the same skills and provided consistent instruction no matter what their age or team level. Coaches are involved with the practice planning to ensure that teams have time to also work on skills that may have been issues in previous practices or tournaments.
Typical Practice Includes:
- Warm-up/Coach Check-in with players
- Ball Control
- Serve/Serve Receive
- Individual Skills/Positional Training
- Compound Skills and Drills (Players come together to work on individual & positional skills as a team.)
- Team drills and game play designed to re-enforce the focus of the overall practice.
Practices are also adjusted for time of the year and if teams have just competed or will be competing in tournaments. Early season practices will focus more on individual skills than later in the season. Teams that just competed will focus on recovery and review of the games. Game play as a team is the focus when the team will be competing that weekend.
Practice Frequency, Length & Times:
- 10U-12U: Practices 2x per week for 2 hours each day. Latest practices will end is 8:30 pm.
- 13U-14U: Practices 2-3x per week for 2-2.5 hours each day.
- 15U-18U: Practices 2-3x per week for 2-2.5 hours each day. Practices may begin as early as 5 pm.
*Early season practices prior to tournaments may be held on Sunday afternoons.

Tournaments
All full season teams will play in a league or series type of tournament. Girls will compete in either the Great Lakes Power League or CVL. Boys will participate in the POINTS Series. These tournaments are played over 3-4 months on multiple weekends each month and are in state. In addition, these full season teams may also play in local tournaments and national qualifying level tournaments. The qualifier tournaments may be local (Chicago) or out of state but in the Midwest region such as Milwaukee, Indianapolis or St. Louis. The fees for out of state tournaments is not included in the club fees and will be invoiced 1 month prior to the tournament if players team will be entered.
Each team's schedule is balanced so that they will play approximately 2 weekends each month. There may be an occasion when there are 3 weekends scheduled. The club tries to avoid over scheduling tournaments so players can have time to process and improve areas that need work. Just playing tournaments creates stress on an athletes body and can lead to burn out and injury. Tournament schedules will be formed based on the individual team/age group once teams are formed.
